Costa brings over three decades of experience in employment law to his role as Special Counsel at Farren McRae Workplace Lawyers and Consultants.

His career spans national law firms, employer associations and private practice, including running his own successful firm.  This breadth of experience gives Costa a comprehensive understanding of workplace relations from multiple perspectives.

Costa has advised and represented clients across a broad range of industries, including hospitality, retail, technology, pharmaceuticals and education – at both national and state levels.  His clients have included multinational corporations, small businesses, employees and independent contractors.  

Costa has appeared in the Federal and County Courts, the Fair Work Commission and various state tribunals.

Costa is known for his pragmatic and commercially minded approach to resolving disputes with a focus on achieving favourable outcomes while minimising cost and disruption.  He delivers clear, practical advice tailored to the unique needs of each client.

In addition to his legal practice, Costa has extensive experience conducting complex workplace investigations, including those involving senior executives, whistleblower disclosures, bullying, discrimination and misconduct.   His investigative work is grounded in a commitment to establishing the facts with clarity and integrity.

Qualifications

  • Solicitor admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria
  • Holder of unrestricted Practising Certificate in Queensland
  • Baccalaureus Procurationis Law Degree, University of the Witwatersrand
  • Certificate III in Investigative Services
